Biografia de Westlife
¿Quién es Westlife? - En la ciuada Ireland, tres chicos deciden formar un grupo. Sus nombres: Shane Filan, Kian Egan y Mark Feehily. Todos entre los 18 y 19 años. - "Los tres estábamos en un grupo de teatro y, durante los intermedios, salíamos a hacer versiones de temas pop", cuenta Shane. - "Tuvimos tanto éxito que decidimos hacer algunos conciertos y grabar una maqueta que vendió 200 copias en las tiendas de discos de nuestra ciudad. No era mucho, pero era un comienzo". - - Más tarde una televisión local emitió una actuación de los chicos en un hospital infantil. Louis Walsh, mánager de Boyzone, vio el programa y se intentó poner en contacto con el grupo, pero se le adelantó la madre de Shane. Walsh fichó a Westlife, compartiendo las labores de management con Ronan Keating, que siempre vio un diamante en bruto en la banda. Poco después, Westlife estaba actuando como telonero de Backstreet Boys en Dublín en marzo de 1998. - - El siguiente paso fué el fichaje de dos nuevos componentes para adquirir el formato de quinteto, siguiendo la tradición de grandes bandas anglosajonas de músicas vocales y bailables. Nicky Byrne y Bryan McFadden fueron los elegidos. Las lucha entre las gandes discográficas por hacerse con los servicios de la prometedora banda fue encarnizada.
